Located in the heart of downtown Kalamazoo, The Park Club has been a landmark since the turn of the century. Housed in a gorgeous Victorian mansion, The Park Club has continued to serve as a charming social center for the community.
Since the guiding principle of sustained quality has never wavered, The Park Club has been the place where its members have gone for the power lunch or a quiet dinner and conversation with friends and associates. It is where they have celebrated weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and holidays. Enjoying the warm inviting surroundings of their home in town.
Over the years, The Park Club has made efforts to keep the original Victorian charm and features as they were over 100 years ago. The result is an atmosphere of dignity and taste which has been carefully maintained by periodic renovations.
The Park Club is proud of the finest cuisine and atmosphere in Kalamazoo. The warm and courteous staff makes our members feel quite at home. Our insistence on freshness and quality means that the menu ingredients are hand selected; fresh produce is stocked daily; fresh steaks are hand trimmed and the seafood flown in from worldwide resources twice weekly.
Among the most anticipated of the Club’s events are: St. Valentine’s Day Dinner, Easter Brunch, Mother’s Day Brunch, Thanksgiving Dinner, Christmas Eve Dinner, New Years Eve Dinner, Distinguished Speaker Luncheon Series and the ever so popular Theater Dinner Menus.
Whether it’s a sandwich in the pub, formal dinner service or a party in the Ball Room, The Park Club has stood ready to meet the needs of its members for many years and continues as a sterling expression of excellence as it looks forward to many more years of offering the finest culinary services available.
The Park Club’s main dining rooms offer a fine variety of formal to casual venues. The main dining rooms include the Victorian and Fountain Rooms which have an inviting atmosphere of classic Victorian decor in shades of burgundy and mauve with wonderful views of a lovely fountain and small flower garden.
The Directors’ Room provides an excellent setting for a formal dinner in a private atmosphere which accommodates up to 14 people. Adjacent to the Main Lobby is the Reading Room which contains daily newspapers and current periodicals. Accented with a beautiful stained glass window overlooking Bronson Park, the Reading Room has been the traditional place where friends have gathered for conversation or cocktails at the start of the evening. Directly off the Reading Room is The Porch which overlooks Bronson Park and offers a delightful setting for a meal on a beautiful summer day or flower scented night.
Accented by two beautiful stained glass windows, The Park Club’s signature staircase links the main floor to the second floor rooms which include The Park Bar, the Wild Game Card Room, the Michigan and Blue Rooms. The 1989 renovation included updating the entire second floor. The Wild Game Card Room provided our members a place for a game of bridge or gin rummy. The wild game trophies provide a very interesting backdrop.
The Park Bar traditionally has been a favorite with The Park Club members. The view of Bronson Park is spectacular and the room is accented with beautiful oak trim and antique fixtures. Equipped with a full service bar, The Park Bar has been popular for intimate parties and business meetings and features a private screened-in porch.
Situated on the third floor of the Park Club, is The Park Club Ballroom. The Ballroom is furnished to accommodate large parties and special events. With a capacity of over 100 people for receptions, The Ballroom lends itself for wedding parties, anniversary parties, Christmas parties, office parties or a large meeting room. The Ballroom provides our members the opportunity to host large groups of people with the convenience of on premise parking. The Ballroom is easily accessed by a passenger elevator which stops at each floor including the ground floor foyer.
The Rathskeller, characterized after an old wine cellar, is located in the basement of the Club. The Rathskeller provides a unique dining experience for our members during the lunch hour. Community tables are used, no reservations are required and it provides an opportunity for Club members to meet other members and many civic leaders throughout Kalamazoo. The Rathskeller truly provides our members with the feeling of dining in an old wine cellar in the mountains of Germany. The pool table, dart board, large screen television and card table offer another wonderful setting for a casual party or get-together.
The Park Club’s Pub is the perfect site for launching a night on the town with cocktails and dinner. Soft lights, warm wood paneling and a comfortable club room setting provide an ideal backdrop for relaxed dining. The Pub is a coveted choice for our members for casual evening dining. The Pub is also a popular entertaining area for private receptions based on availability.
